Children's Book Author, Illustrator and TeacherJudith Moffatt My love for paper began with the beautiful
samples my Dad would bring home from his job at a printing company.
After an early
career in advertising I decided to pursue my life-long ambition to
become a children’s book illustrator. In 1990 I illustrated my
first book using my 3-dimensional cut paper style. Since then I have gone
on to publish over 50 books for young children. When I began speaking at schools and libraries, it gave me the opportunity
to see children react to my artwork. Watching them attempt to reach
into a page, pluck out an object, or feel the texture would remind
me of the enjoyment my dimensional technique added to the story and
illustrations. These experiences have become so rewarding that I recently
began teaching children’s book illustration, and cut paper workshops
at the Rhode Island School of Design. I have received several awards in international dimensional art competitions. Too Many Rabbits was recognized as an American Pick of the List selection, The Sun-Maid-Raisin |
